Growth hormone is perhaps the most paradoxical intervention in longevity. While GH-deficient individuals supplementing to normal levels may benefit, supraphysiological GH levels are consistently associated with shorter lifespan across species. Acromegaly (excess GH) shortens life. The longevity community's embrace of GH supplementation runs directly counter to the evolutionary biology.
The full evidence review — including the longevity paradox — why the intervention people take to stay young may be doing the opposite — is in Section 7 (Hormones) of The Anti-Longevity Playbook.
